Can technology help nurture our business relationships?
Recently, I was talking to a friend of mine who owns a small business. He was me telling of some troubles he was having with a few of his clients.
Before I go on, I must tell you that I have also been a small business owner in the past. One of the businesses I owned was a consulting company where we worked with small businesses to help them do more things, better. Basically, I was a business coach.
As my friend talked to me about his issues, I listened intently and then asked him one very important question. I asked what he was doing to nurture the relationship with these clients. I am not going to bore you with details of the conversation but as we talked through that he came away with a better grasp of things and a plan of action.
As a technology support company, the entire staff at SunRiver IT takes pride in the relationships we have with our clients. We work hard to nurture those relationships and communicate often with our clients.
Technology is a funny thing. While we rely on it to do our jobs, communicate with clients, friends, family and so forth, many of us, even me, take the support of today’s technologies for granted. Most feel that it (computer, phone, tablet etc.) should just work when we want it to work. Let me use your car as an example. You drive it to and from work, in carpools, to take the kids to school, baseball, ballet and soccer practice. Cars need gas, oil, and tire rotations — basic maintenance so we are safe and our vehicles work properly. We usually take them to the dealer or to an auto shop that we trust or have a relationship with. We spend a lot of money on our cars and we rely on them to do what we need them to do, when we need them to do it. Why would you do any less with your business?
The staff at SunRiver IT are experts in supporting technology for small business. What sets us apart from other local firms, as I mentioned earlier, is that we work at nurturing our relationships with our clients. We look at every client who hires us as they are trusting us to look out for one of their most precious assets, the business they started.
